The term 'hoard' is used to describe any collection of ancient coins found all together. Hoard B of the Asklepeion is one of the three hoards retrieved in 1876/77 during the excavation of the Sanctuary of Asklepios on the southern slope of the Acropolis. It consisted of 234 gold byzantine coins placed in a vessel.
